Offering Grades K3-8
JOY: JESUS. OTHERS. YOURSELF.
Students are encouraged to think about JOY when interacting with peers, teachers, and staff. Our students focus on these three things in the classroom and in their daily lives: Spiritual growth in relationship with Jesus, putting Others first exhibiting care, respect and kindness, and having faith in yourself to make good choices, those that align with the teaching of God and family. We practice living out our Catholic faith within the school environment and then work to utilize these values and beliefs outside our walls in the larger community.
A SAFE, SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT
Reverence for the human dignity of every person comes from recognizing Christ in Self and others. More than a “Drug-free” or “Gun-free zone,” St. Boniface strives to be a “Christ-centered zone.”
MASS AND MASS PARTICIPATION
We celebrate Mass together as an entire community on Fridays. Students are able to participate in these celebrations through the choir, readings, playing instruments, and mass preparation. Students in 5th-8th grades are given the opportunity to receive training to act as servers and acolytes during school and parish masses.
RELIGIOUS VOCATION AND INSPIRATION
We are proud and blessed to have a professed sister who volunteers her time as part of our staff. Our pastor openly shares his vocation and encourages others to discern their vocations as well. All teachers continue their own Catholic education through in-services, prayer experiences, classes, and retreats.
SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
Within our school community we are happy to prepare for the sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist (Communion) in the 2nd grade. This preparation is received within the religion curriculum of our school day, but also includes the whole parish community in prayer, a bread day retreat experience, and the reception of the sacraments. Receiving the Eucharist is the biggest part of our identity as Catholics and we are happy to be nourished in this sacrament as a school community each week.
LITURGICAL YEAR CELEBRATIONS
Throughout the year, the student body participates in Reconciliation services, Advent, and Lenten prayer services.
ADOPTED SISTER, FLAVIA
In 2011, we made a commitment to sponsor a child in Uganda for 10 years to help provide schooling, clothing, and shelter. Flavia is now our adopted sister. We have been able to skype with her and showed her snow for the first time! Flavia writes us letters to tell us of her progress in school and about her life in Uganda. We pray for her at our weekly masses and all our students are happy to talk about their sister. Stop in the office and see her picture.
SERVICE PROJECTS
Our students continually take on projects to help others in need. We make baptismal blankets in Spirit Groups to give as a gift to the families of the newly baptized babies in our parish. The 8th grade hosts a breakfast after mass in the spring for those in our parish community who regularly attend the morning mass celebration. Coats and warm weather accessory drives are conducted to help needy families. If there is a need, the St. Boniface community is always willing to step in and do whatever is necessary.
